Picket Fences Divorce Recovery Ministries is made up of three virtual communities. We invite you to visit us at any of these locations:
Picket Fences Yahoo Group*
This support group is an active, secure email support group where the pain and trauma of separation/divorce issues are discussed on an intimate level. If you seek "real-time" answers and/or support, then this is the group for you. To join, please click on the link below, which will take you to the Yahoogroup website. Once you join, you will receive a questionnaire which you must complete and return before membership approval. The purpose of the questionnaire is solely for security purposes. Founded in 2000, this Yahoogroup is where everything began and is still a vital part of the PFDRM support system. Also, to maintain security and privacy for our members, we require that you post at least once per month.
Picket Fences Social Network*
Picket Fences Divorce Recovery Ministries has its own secure social network (currently a "ning" network). This support system is in a "Facebook-style" format. Founded in 2007 and over 700 members strong, this network also offers support. Features of our social network include: a Discussion Forum where you can post your questions, concerns and other divorce related writings, a 24/7 chatroom, a Personal Blog feature that can be useful as a tool for you to write out your feelings, frustrations and emotions, a Personal Home Page that is yours, and also a Mindjolt Games page (sometimes we need some distractions from life's sorrow).
Picket Fences on Facebook*
The newest member of Picket Fences Divorce Recovery Ministries is our Facebook group, which was founded in 2009. This is a more casual setting which allows us to get to know one another and "socialize". Although there is a discussion board, we recommend bringing the more intimate discussions to the Yahoogroup.. Come and join the Facebook fun! Our Facebook location has changed. Follow this link to our brand-new Facebook site! Same stuff...different location.
Coming soon...
Our vision at Picket Fences Divorce Recovery Ministries is to be sensitive to God's direction. Virtual support groups are awesome and can be life-saving, but most of the times they cannot take the place of "real-people" support groups. Our long-term goal is to expand Picket Fences Divorce Recovery Ministries beyond cyberspace and bring it into the local church as an expansion ministry for divorced Christian women.
Blessings,
The Picket Fences Divorce Recovery Ministries team *Disclaimer: We are not trained professionals, licensed counselors, medical personnel, or legal aid. We are merely a network of women helping women as they try to heal and make sense of the trauma of a divorce and/or separation.
