Divorce Decree Checklist (child custody) Constructing a divorce decree can be a stressful process, especially when children are involved. Making special considerations before the divorce is final will save countless headaches and court costs later.  Click here for a partial checklist (.PDF document) of items to consider when discussing custody arrangements with your lawyer. This should open up a .PDF document containint a checklist. If you experience any problem opening this document, please contact us and we will try to correct any problems.

Are you being physically abused?  Our first recommendation:  GET OUT and get out NOW.  Leaving a violent relationship is dangerous, but with help, it can be accomplished.  Help is available to callers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Hotline advocates are available for victims and anyone calling on their behalf to provide crisis intervention, safety planning, information and referrals to agencies in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Assistance is available in English and Spanish with access to more than 170 languages through interpreter services. If you or someone you know is frightened about something in your relationship, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1−800−799−SAFE (7233) or TTY 1−800−787−3224.

Abuse is never OK and you are not alone.  This site contains wonderful resources for victims of domestic violence.  There is also a link to a booklet, complete with a Personalized Safety Plan Checklist for your convenience.
