1. Many divorce sites ask for a membership fee. Is there a cost to join Picket Fences? Picket fences is FREE. We're open 24/7. We are a ministry devoted to divorced Christian women. 2. Do I have to be a Christian to join? One does not have to be a Christian to join with us, however since we are a Christian group, we will discuss the Bible and issues of God. If this is offensive, then it might not be the fellowship for you. We will not compromise our position in Christ. 3. Is Picket fences part of a bigger ministry, church or denomination? Picket fences is not under the authority of any religious denomination. 4. Most divorce recovery sites are for both men and women. Why is Picket fences for women only? We believe that the intimate sharing of one's divorce details and marriage should be with women only. During a separation and divorce, we are more vulnerable and do not need the distractions from divorced men. 5. Does Picket Fences ever recommend divorce? We honor and respect God's covenant of marriage...We do not ever advocate divorce. However, we are committed to listen, minister, support and uphold in prayer, our sisters without judgement or condemnation. 6. I need legal help. Does Picket fences help with the legal problems associated with my divorce? No. We are a support ministry only. 7. Why do I need divorce recovery? Divorce is one of lives losses and in order to successfully move on, one needs to take the time to heal. Many churches sponsor divorce recovery groups. Picket fences was never intended to take the place of a divorce recovery program in your church. We are the additional woman's support that come along side you to encourage, support and pray for you, as you GROW through this life experience. Picket Fences believes God will repay YOU for the years, the locust have eaten. |
8. My husband has filed for divorce and I am standing for my marriage. Will Picket fences stand and pray with me as I try and save my marriage? Picket fences is a divorce recovery ministry and thus, the topics would not be desirable for someone wanting to save their marriage. We can refer you to a marriage restoration ministry for this time. 9. I don't want to join my space or the other forums. What is the best way I can be a part of Picket fences? Our 2 main forums are the yahoo group and our Pink Pages, the message board forum. This is where the real picket fences community of divorce women share and support one another. 10. I'm anxious to get on with my new life. What is the recommended time to recover? Ideally it's 1 year for every 5 years married. Recovery should not be rushed. 11.
